I feel like MLB really missed the opportunity to create a piece of modern baseball memorabilla when they passed on adding the pillbox cap to this year's All Star Game uniform. The 2014 hats that drew inspiration from the Minnesota Twins batting helmets of the '70s may have looked a little funky for some teams, but the whole concept of acknowledging the history of the host team is pretty cool. This three-piece shape is unique to baseball - nowadays you can purchase a standard six-panel ballcap with any sports team logo on it. I get it, the boxy style may not appeal to everyone, but it's synonmous with the Cincinnati Reds' mascot, Mr. Redlegs, and is even part of the 2015 All Star game logo itself. Anyways, I'm done with my rant. And it doesn't make me any less excited about this year's summer classic.

Thankfully, Homage has stepped up to the plate with their retro "Cincy" pillbox hat. They've replaced the Reds logo with some outstanding type, and have added a white button and vent holes. Way better looking than the officially licensed options, I plan on picking it up at some point and adding an All Star Game logo pin to the temple.Visit homage.com to snag one for yourself.
